Road & Flight Cases

ATA Cases, also known as Road Cases, Flight Cases, and Anvil™ Cases are used for the storing and transportation of high-value items, or items that need to travel hundreds of times throughout their life. Some of our customers that use cases are sports teams, rock bands, tech, and trade show companies, as well as musical and scientific instrument manufacturers and aerospace and space exploration companies. A flight case can be small enough for a handheld drone or large enough for a rocket nozzle.

Cases can be made from many materials, but plastic-coated plywood, solid plastic, or honeycomb plastic panels are typical. We use aluminum extrusion edging and valance as well as zinc coated steel hardware like latches, corners, and handles. Cases can be designed to be hand-carried, rolled like a suitcase, or placed on a caster board to be rolled around effortlessly. Cases can be repaired and refreshed as needed and can be repurposed and reconfigured.

We build cases in many different configurations and sizes.

Molded Plastic Cases
We resell SKB™ Pelican™ and other molded plastic cases.

Custom Cut Foam Inserts
We take your model or design or your actual part and machine a foam insert for your case to cradle your item.

Briefcases / Carrying Cases
Hand Carried hardshell case like a typical briefcase. Can be built to any size and are typically made of lightweight materials and hinge open.

Hinged Lid Cases
Lid hinges up from the back of the case. Great for not losing your lid! Hinged lid cases are sometimes called trunks and are a good choice for cases that need compartments.

Lift-Off Lid Cases
Case lid lifts off and is removable. A good choice if you need access to all sides of your cased items. These cases are a good choice for heavier items, as well as cases that need lots of cubbies or compartments.

Cake Top Cases
Case lifts off the base. Great for items that will be used while sitting in the case. Cake top cases also allow you to remove items from your case without having to lift them over tall case walls. Many Amps and Heads are cased in this manner.

Rack Cases
Computer and Networks servers as well as audio and video recording and stage electronics need to rack-mounted. We build a foam isolated floating 19” rack box inside of a case that opens from both ends allowing access to the front and rear of your equipment. Great for mobile servers as well as stage and recording applications.

Wardrobe Cases
Case is split vertically and case opens like a book. Good for cases that hold drawers, clothing, and uniforms.
